Accounting and taxes for Miami Beach

Hospitality, rentals and seasonal income: Miami Beach books have their own rhythm, and we keep up with it.

Miami Beach, Miami-Dade CountyOffice: 175 Fontainebleau Blvd, Suite 1C, Miami, FL 33172

Why Miami Beach businesses work with us

Miami Beach is a hospitality economy: restaurants and bars from South Beach to North Beach, hotels and the vendors that supply them, salons, fitness studios and the businesses that live on tourist season. Tips, high staff turnover, part-time schedules and sales tax on top of it all make payroll and bookkeeping harder here than almost anywhere else in the county.

The Beach also has a large share of condo and rental owners, including short-term rentals. Rental income, depreciation, cleaning and management fees and the question of whether a property is a business or an investment all land on the tax return, and getting them right changes what you owe.

A lot of people on the Beach work seasonal or contract jobs, sometimes for several employers in a year, sometimes with income from abroad. We prepare those returns every year and know where the problems usually hide.

How we work with Miami Beach clients

  • Payroll built for tipped and part-time staff, with the tax deposits and filings handled
  • Monthly bookkeeping for restaurants and hospitality businesses, including sales tax
  • Tax returns for rental owners, seasonal workers and new arrivals, in English or Spanish

Questions from Miami Beach

Do you handle payroll for restaurants with tipped employees?

Yes. Tip reporting, part-time schedules and turnover are normal for our restaurant clients, and the payroll tax deposits and filings are part of the service.

I rent out my condo on the Beach. How is that taxed?

Rental income and the expenses that go with it are reported on your return, and depreciation usually matters a lot. Bring the closing statement, your income records and the management and cleaning fees, and we’ll walk through it.

I had three employers this year and some income from abroad. Is that a problem?

No. Bring every W-2 and 1099 and the details of the foreign income. If you had foreign bank accounts, we’ll check whether a separate report is required.

How do we get documents to you from the Beach?

Securely online. Most Miami Beach clients never need to cross the causeway; we meet by video and you’re welcome at the office whenever you want.
